IDEx: USF Family Day

Families, alumni, and community members visiting the USF Family Day IDEx booth on campus explored interactive demonstrations of digital archaeology and 3D documentation technologies used in cultural heritage research. Lab staff showcased photogrammetry and Artec 3D scanning tools, demonstrating how artifacts are captured and transformed into accurate 3D digital models. Guests were invited to take part in hands-on activities, including capturing images for photogrammetric reconstruction and experimenting with handheld 3D scanners to observe real-time digitization. The event offered an engaging introduction to how modern technological methods are transforming archaeological research, education, and heritage preservation.
